Molecular Templates, Inc

Rock Creek Advisors (the “Sale Agent”) is contacting you regarding Molecular Templates, Inc. (the “Company” or “Molecular Templates”) (NASDAQ: MTEM). We are helping sell the Company and/or Assets to a strategic partner or financial buyer who can work to develop and commercialize the assets to a successful completion. The assets include intellectual property, licenses, trademarks, know-how, and PP&E.

Molecular Templates is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on discovering and developing novel biologic therapeutics. MTEM specializes in developing Engineered Toxin Bodies (ETBs), a next-generation biologic platform designed to treat cancer and other diseases. The Company’s technology harnesses the unique biological properties of a proprietarily engineered de-immunized bacterial toxin scaffold to create targeted therapies with novel mechanisms of action that induce tumor cell death.

Molecular Templates, Inc. (MTEM) is advancing several promising programs, including MT-0169, MT-6402, and MT-8421. MT-0169 is a lead candidate with a potent mechanism of cell-kill against CD38+ immune cells. MT-0169 has shown safety and efficacy in a small phase I study in relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma where it also demonstrated deep depletion of CD38+ immune cells. MT-0169 can be rapidly advanced into the autoimmune setting where its unique mechanism of action (direct cell-kill via ribosome inhibition) may result in better immune cell clearance than antibody approaches.

Investment Highlights

  • Innovative Platform Technology: MTEM’s Engineered Toxin Bodies act through novel mechanisms of action represent a breakthrough in cancer treatment by providing targeted, direct cell-killing mechanisms that do not rely on high receptor expression or the presence of effector cells.
  • Validated Clinical Potential: Over 100 patients have been treated with MTEM’s de-immunized ETBs across multiple clinical programs with no occurrences of capillary leak syndrome (CLS), which is often seen with similar immunotoxin therapies.
  • Diverse Clinical Pipeline: The Company is targeting high-value markets within oncology and autoimmune disease.  MT-0169 represents a potentially novel approach with superiority over current modalities targeting CD38 for a variety of autoimmune indications.  MT-6402 and MT-8421 are unique approaches to immuno-oncology focused on immune cell depletion in the tumor microenvironment to restore T cell potency against tumors.  Both programs have demonstrated promising signals of anti-tumor activity in Phase 1 studies.
  • Growth Potential: The global cancer treatment market is rapidly expanding, and MTEM’s cutting-edge technology positions it to capture significant value as new treatments progress through the pipeline.
  • Strong IP Portfolio: MTEM holds robust intellectual property protections around its ETB platform, safeguarding its technological innovations and ensuring long-term competitive advantages.
